TOP 10 ART AND DESIGN VENUES


  1. THE WALKER ART GALLERY LIVERPOOL The walker art gallery is the top of my list I have visited it on numerous occasions and was overwhelmed by the collections of art and design that they have on display it is centered in the middle of Liverpool city and it is easy to access the entry is free.

2THE TATE LIVERPOOL

Tate Liverpool is situated at albert dock and is a wonderful place I have been here on a number of occasions there collections are fabulous  and they also have visiting collections

3.THE TATE MODERN LONDON

The tate moderr is a wonderful place to visit they have one of the biggest collections that I have seen I have visited occasionally the most memorable think I saw was dorriss salcedos crack in the floor in the turbine hall it was a spectacular sight.

4 VICTORIA AND ALBERT MEUSEAM

The Victoria and Albert Museum (often abbreviated as the V&A), set in the South Kensington district of The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, London, England, is the world’s largest museum of decorative arts and design, housing a permanent collection of over 4.5 million objects. Named after Prince Albert and Queen Victoria, it was founded in 1852, and has since grown to now cover 12.5 acres (51,000m2)[2] and 145 galleries. Its collection spans 5,000 years of art, from ancient times to the present day, in virtually every medium, from the cultures of Europe, North America, Asia and North Africa. The museumis a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport

5 THE BARBICAN CENTER

The Barbican Centre is an expansive arts venue in the heart of London’s Barbican Estate. It has recently had a bit of a makeover and visitors are flocking in. Bright colours and vast swathes of Futura complete and sleek look to the place. Current exhibitions of interest include Robert Capa and Gerda Taro’s work in This Is War!

6  THE HAYWARD GALLERY

The layout of the gallery is very different to other galleries I’ve been to and the outside sections allow for a plethora of different styles of visual work. If you’re ever on the South Bank, go there and you will not be disappointed

7  MUSEUM OF MODERN ART  NEW YORK

Any artist visiting New York must see the Museum of Modern Art. Its stunning interior architecture and vast array of work on display are just two reasons why this is a must for anyone visiting the city that never sleeps

8. THE LOUVRE MUSEUM  PARIS

The Louvre Museum in Paris is the world’s most visited art museum and a historic monument. Nearly 35,000 objects from the 6th millennium BC to the 19th century AD are exhibited

9. THE GRAPHIC DESIGN MUSEUM

On June 2008 the Graphic Design Museum was opened in Beyerd Breda (Netherlands). It is the first museum in the world that concentrates specifically on graphic design.

10. NATIONAL MUSEUM CARDIFF

It may not hold the very best collection of art in the world but the national museum of Wales in Cardiff was my first experience of visiting a real art gallery and my first exposure to real artworks. The museum holds one of the finest collections of Welsh art and I recommend a visit.
